Frequently Asked Questions About Recruitment
-
How often does KAPi hold recruitment?
We have recruitment cycles every semester! If you missed us in the fall or just found out about us in the spring, don’t worry, we will host another cycle next semester!
-
Can I rush KAPi as a freshman? Or non-Political Science major?
Yes and yes! We do not have any requirements for year, major, area of study, or professional background. We are not affiliated with any specific academic department, nor do we look for any ‘type’ of PNM. We value having a diverse group of brothers from all backgrounds and with many different experiences and interests!
-
Can I rush multiple times?
Yes! Many of our brothers rushed multiple times before joining KAPi. We love to see PNMs with long-term commitment who are truly interested in joining our brotherhood. Rushing multiple times is never counted against you.
-
What does recruitment look like?
We host two major sets of recruitment events: Open Rounds and Closed Rounds. Open Rounds are open to all PNMs who sign up for rush. They take place over the course of two days with one round each day, typically lasting one hour long. Open Rounds Day 1 is centered around who you are and your personal interests, while Open Rounds Day 2 is centered around your career goals and professional interests. PNMs who move onto Closed Rounds will be notified of further details.
-
Do I need to have a legal background to join KAPi?
Absolutely not! We do not require PNMs to have any sort of professional experience prior to rushing KAPi. In fact, we value what parts of your background make you most unique–whether that’s your favorite hobby, your passion project, or a new career interest you just discovered. The most successful PNMs are not necessarily the ones with the most detailed resumes. Instead, they are the ones who are articulate, can advocate for themselves, and who are genuinely interested in contributing to the brotherhood.
